Radiance Aroma Review

Joseph Abboud Cool Leather

Cool Leather is a brand-new fragrance, just released in 2025, and is a rather mass-market scent, aimed at a clean, modern, masculine style. And though it may not have the prestige of a Chanel, Versace, or Tom Ford scent, it still has a tremendous amount of presence and merit. The contrast between its cool, fresh opening, and a warm, leathery base, gives it a very sensual dichotomy. Joseph Abboud is a fragrance line that is easy to wear and meant to be affordable and accessible, without feeling cheap or common. Most fragrances in this price range cannot compete with high-end niche brands and are mostly labeled as being a bit generic, sometimes considered almost vulgar and offensive, but Cool Leather is different. The cool versus warm scent structure is a pleasant change from many of today’s linear fragrances. The light, fresh opening of Grapefruit, Mint, and Nutmeg, followed by the warmth of Black Leather, Amberwood, and Patchouli, is a wonderful polarity that blends seamlessly and complements each other incredibly well. There’s also a musky undertone that rounds this fragrance off that can only be described as “pheromone saturated.” Something I can only describe as suggestive of a man just beginning to slightly perspire, a man who has been walking in the hot sun on a Mediterranean shoreline, his body radiating with the essence of masculinity. It’s definitely a polished men’s Summer fragrance, one that begins with fresh morning rays of sunshine, then settles into a delightful, warm night on a sandy beach.
