Radiance Aroma Review

Chanel Bleu

Bleu de Chanel is one of the most influential modern men’s fragrances to be released by Chanel in years, and helped define the whole “blue fragrance” category, clean, fresh, with versatile masculinity. Released in 2010, it became the new flagship line for Chanel, transforming it into one of the brand’s most popular and best-selling men’s fragrances in years. Instead of following the older aquatic trend of most 90’s fresh scents, it introduced a more refined woody style, clean but deeper and more sophisticated. Its opening is a bright, citrusy, sharp, and sparkling blend of Grapefruit, Lemon, Mint, and Pink Pepper. A heart of Ginger, Nutmeg, and Jasmine makes for a spicy, smooth core that is very “designer-clean” and very signature Chanel. Its base is much woodier with a broad collection of Incense, Cedarwood, Patchouli, Sandalwood, Labdanum, and Vetiver, giving Bleu de Chanel a slightly smoky depth and maturity. Bleu is considered extremely versatile, switching from casual to date night with extreme ease, making it universally appealing and impeccably clean. This formula of polished luxury made it the blueprint for countless fragrances to come. Daring, yet one of the most balanced and uniformly wearable scents ever made. Surprisingly, Bleu lacks the powdery DNA inherent in most Chanel fragrances, breaking with years of precedent, making it stand out as something new and unique, making clear that Chanel can be both classic and modern in the same universe.
