Radiance Aroma Review

Versace Eros Flame

The original Eros debuted in 2012 and was a massive success, becoming one of the most powerful designer fragrances of the 2010s. Released in 2018, Flame was redesigned as a warmer, spicier rendition of Eros to represent passion, intense love, and fiery emotion. Donatella Versace described it as being built on contrasts: cold versus hot, sweet versus spicy, and light versus shadow. The original Eros, by comparison, is more minty, sweet, and aromatic, and while keeping the same signature combination of Mint, Green Apple, and Tonka Bean from the original, Flame reworks that DNA with Citrus Peel, Spice, Woods, and Pepper, creating a much darker, warmer rendition, taking Eros seamlessly from a Summer fragrance to a Fall one. At the top, Eros Flame opens with Mandarin, Lemon, Chinotto, and Bitter Orange, mixed with Black Pepper and Rosemary. The heart introduces Geranium, Rose, and Pepperwood, while the base becomes creamy and warm with Tonka Bean, Vanilla, Sandalwood, Cedar, Patchouli, Oakmoss, and Vetiver. Both have intense projection, and a small amount goes a long way. Flame absolutely retains the unmistakable scent from the original Eros, yet has been transformed into something much heavier and darker, changing it almost effortlessly from a “blue’ fragrance to a “red” one. Taking you from a beautiful Italian shoreline, salty waves crashing against it, to an enchanting shady orchard of trees with Fall leaves raining down all around you.
