Radiance Aroma Review

Chanel No. 19

This fragrance is probably my favorite scent of all time!  It’s very fresh and clean, and though it consists mostly of white florals, it doesn’t come off as overly feminine, certainly not as much as other Chanel perfumes do, mainly Chanel No. 5.  It’s an ideal harmony of vibrant green Galbanum and soft powdery Iris, Neroli, Bergamot, Jasmine, Vetiver, resulting in a rich yet soft and smooth composition of floral dimension heightened by just a touch of Rose, Ylang Ylang, Lily of the Valley, with just a hint of leather and Sandalwood for the unisex balance that is unique to No. 19. First launched in 1971, this fragrance was worn by Gabrielle Chanel herself, paying tribute to the day she was born, August 19th. A daring, distinctive, uncompromising composition, in the image of Mademoiselle Chanel. A floral, woody, green scent with perfect balance. Most Chanel fragrances have a powdery undertone, an olfactory signature exclusive to Chanel fragrances, and No. 19 has this House DNA in droves. A reinterpretation of No. 19 was created and released in 2011 by in-house perfumer Jacques Polge called No. 19 Poudre, which, despite the name, meaning powdery, is actually less powdery than the original, by gently smoothing out the original with a bit of musk, making it a bit more unisex in my opinion. All around, No. 19 is a quintessential Chanel fragrance, classic, timeless, eternal.
