Fame was the first of only two fragrances released by Lady Gaga, and though it has since been discontinued, I still find it to be worthy of a mention. You may not be able to buy it from retailers, but it can still be found from sellers on eBay, albeit at a hefty price. Since its discontinuation, it\u2019s become sort of a cult classic among fragrance enthusiasts because it truly is a marvelous scent. Lady Gaga herself described it as smelling like a \u201creally expensive hooker,\u201d though in my opinion, it does have a more dignified aroma than what that description implies. What was so fascinating about this fragrance, besides its rather enticing aroma, is that the perfume was solid black in the bottle yet sprayed on completely clear. Lady Gaga insisted on this effect, and special technology had to be developed to make this presentation possible. Unlike a traditional fragrance pyramid, Fame used a \u201cpush-pull\u201d scent approach, meaning the notes emerge together rather than a strict top, middle, and base progression. Its notes are a very interesting blend of Belladonna, Incense, Saffron, Apricot, Tiger Orchid, and Jasmine. It has a very floral, fruity vibe when first sprayed, but then evolves into a slightly smoky base after about four hours, without losing the originality of its opening. Despite its massive promotional campaign, Lady Gaga has since felt that her music is more important than any fragrance and has only released one more scent, Eau D\u2019 Gaga, a few years later, which has also been discontinued, even though I will surely review it in the near future because it incorporates heavy leather notes, something Scentsarama fans know I adore.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
