Released in 2009, Versense is a women’s fragrance designed under the direction of Donatella Versace, which is meant to capture Mediterranean nature, greenery, and sunlight rather than the glamour-heavy sweetness that most of Versace’s other women’s fragrances embrace. It\u2019s meant to take on an outdoor luxury, a fusion of freshness and sensuality, and is meant to evoke freedom, energy, and balance with nature. It has a very citrusy, floral vibe, very clean and herbal, and lightly unisex. And despite being designed for women, I find that it works very well on a man in a Springtime setting. It\u2019s much closer to a light aquatic scent, unlike many of Versace’s much bolder, heavier fragrances, keeping it intentionally restrained and elegant. I get a tremendous amount of compliments whenever I wear Versense. Its opening is very zesty, like a Mediterranean citrus grove with notes like Bergamot, Green Mandarin, Fig, and Pear. Its heart is full of light florals such as Jasmine, Narcissus, and Sea Lily, with a subtle Spicy green twist from a gentle \u00a0addition of Cardamom. Though its dry down is much woodier, it never feels heavy. Notes such as Cedarwood, Sandalwood, Olive Tree, and a hint of Musk make for a sturdy base that rounds the majority of this fragrance’s citrusy notes into a solid, yet still surprisingly robust foundation that never ceases to be delightfully satisfying to the senses, making the name \u201cVersense\u201d entirely appropriate.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
